Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a social welfare policy enacted on the ASEAN Motor Club server. It gives player a regular payment periodically (e.g. a few times per hour), and the pay depends on the activity as well as the player's driving level.

Mayor Freeman’s proposal highlights several key advantages of implementing this UBI system:

1. Injecting Economic Liquidity: By putting more purchasing power directly into players’ hands, we expect to see a more vibrant in-game economy. This means:
   • Increased trade and demand for goods and services.
   • More bustling markets and more opportunities for delivery jobs.
   • Overall economic stimulation across Motor Town.
2. Improving Player Retention and Reducing the ‘Grind’: This foundational income aims to make Motor Town more welcoming, especially for new players.
   • It lowers the barrier to entry, ensuring everyone can acquire essential goods.
   • Players are freed from constant money-making, allowing them to:
     • Experiment with vehicle tuning.
     • Explore the diverse landscapes of Jeju and Oji islands.
     • Participate more actively in community events and races.
3. Incentivizing Active Engagement: The tiered system directly rewards active participation, designed to:
   • Boost average session lengths and the frequency of meaningful play.
   • Foster a more vibrant Motor Town, full of spontaneous interactions and a lively community atmosphere.
   • Reinforce fairness, ensuring participation isn’t solely limited by the ability to dedicate vast hours to wealth generation.

The UBI is funded through donations and Vanity Vehicle sales into the Treasury.
