Housing & Plots

In Motor Town, owning a house or plot of land allows you to establish a personal base and provides several strategic advantages within the game world. On the ASEAN Motor Club dedicated server, the system operates under a specific rental model rather than direct ownership.

Renting a Plot

To rent a plot of land, you need to find an available postbox at the front of the plot and interact with it. If you can't find a postbox, it may have been knocked over, and you'll need to wait for it to respawn.

On the ASEAN server, you cannot permanently own plots; you can only rent them. The rental duration is set to 15 days. It is crucial to manually renew your rent before the deadline. If you fail to renew in time, you will lose any buildings, furniture, and other assets on that plot, and another player can then rent it for themselves.

Houses and rented plots serve as convenient fast travel points for anyone in the server, allowing them to teleport to your location for a fee of 100 coins. You can easily spot houses on the in-game map, where they are marked with a House icon. Available plots are indicated by a purple house icon, and you can click on these icons to fast travel directly.

As a courtesy to other players, it is highly recommended that you build a parking lot on your rented plot. This helps ensure that everyone can conveniently spawn their vehicles when fast-traveling to your location.

Buildings

To construct a building on a rented plot, you first need to acquire blueprints. These can be purchased from the man on the top floor of the architect's office located in south-west Jeju. Remember to ensure you have enough inventory space to carry the blueprints, and consider bringing a vehicle with upgraded storage boxes, such as a Kira Flatbed or SRT, as blueprints can be bulky. The Panther car, suitable for navigating the city, can be purchased outside the architect's office.

Once you have a blueprint and are on your rented land, use the blueprint while looking at the ground ahead of you. This will display a preview of the building. Interact again to finalize its construction. If the outline appears red, it means the blueprint is too close to the edge of your property or is intersecting an existing object. Some buildings, such as the Large Garage, are very big and require a particularly spacious plot.

Here are some of the available buildings and their costs:

Houses:

  • Small House - $10,000
  • Small House - $15,000
  • Desert House 1 - $18,000
  • Desert House 2 - $15,000
  • Desert House 3 - $17,000
  • Desert House 4 - $5,000
  • Desert House 5 - $20,000

Garages:

  • Large Garage - $20,000

Note: The Large Garage is *not* an actual garage for modifying/repairing vehicles; it is merely a large empty building. Its construction also requires materials to be delivered.

Parking Spaces:

  • Small Parking Space - $1,000
  • Mid-Size Parking Space - $2,000
  • Large Parking Space - $3,000

Most houses and parking spaces are built instantly upon confirmation. However, the Large Garage requires you to transport a specific set of materials to finish its construction:

  • 20 tons of concrete
  • 30 tons of sand
  • 2 14ft wood planks

These resources can typically be found at the cement factory, construction sites, and the sawmill.

If you are unsatisfied with a building's position, you can interact with a panel on it to deconstruct the house. You will receive the blueprint back, allowing you to try placing it again.

Furniture

Once your house is built, you can furnish it. Most furniture items can be purchased at the Aewol Furniture Store, located on the northwest side of Jeju Island.

After buying a piece of furniture, you'll need to physically carry it to a truck or van and secure it using straps. To place the furniture down from your vehicle, use the “Putdown” action, not the “Build” action. Once inside your house, you can carry the furniture and use the “Build” action to place it permanently.

While beds allow your character to “sleep,” please note that in multiplayer mode, sleeping does not accelerate game time, unlike in single-player.

Some unique furniture pieces can also be found and bought at other specific locations around the map:

  • Ranch Oval: Fence (hidden in bushes), carpet (inside the house), rectangular flower pot (on the porch).
  • Gangjung Furniture Shop: Standing lamp, desk chair.
  • Gangjung Lighting Shop: Various types of lighting.
  • Gangjung Supermaret: Easter bunny-rainbow gate.

Availability

Due to the large number of players on the ASEAN Motor Club server, plots can be hard to come by. To assist players in finding available plots and managing their rentals, the server provides several resources:

  • Keep an eye out for daily rent reminders for expiring rents in the Discord server.
  • Visit the official website: aseanmotorclub.com/housing to view who owns which plots and their expiration dates.

Server Settings and Reminders

The ASEAN server has specific settings related to housing:

  • Players can rent a maximum of 1 plot of land.
  • Rent is set to a low rate of 0.03x the default.
  • The guaranteed rental period is 7 days, with a 3-day grace period to renew.
  • The server features automatic rent reminders: If your Discord nickname matches your in-game character name, the bot will send you a daily direct message reminder if your rent is expiring within 3 days.
  • As per server rules, when you rent a plot of land, please build a parking spot for other players' convenience so they can spawn vehicles there.
