Depots

Depots are a significant feature introduced in Motor Town with the v0.7.14 update, designed to streamline vehicle maintenance and enhance company management. They provide an automated and centralized way to service company vehicles, adding strategic depth to land ownership and route planning.

Depots are constructible buildings available to company owners that automatically repair company vehicles as they visit during routine operations. They consume spare parts stored within the building, restoring the condition of any eligible company vehicle that stops there, greatly reducing the need for manual maintenance.

Depots can be constructed on any available housing plot owned by the player. There are two distinct variants, serving different needs:

Both types offer spacious interiors suitable for parking and customization. Blueprints for both variants can be purchased at the architect's office in south west Jeju.

Depots are integrated into the company route editor. Players can assign depot stops for their truck or bus routes. When a company vehicle visits a depot, it is automatically serviced using spare parts from the depot's inventory.

Key management features included:

• Company Menu Depot Tab: A dedicated tab in the company menu (accessible via 'O' key) allows players to view all owned depots, monitor their spare parts levels, and rename them for better organization.
• Remote Restock: Depot owners can resupply parts remotely via a restock button in the UI.
• Restock Delivery: Alternatively, any player on the server can restock a depot by delivering supplies from warehouses shown on the Depots menu.
• Notifications: Players receive in-game warnings if a company vehicle's condition drops below 20% or if a depot is running low on spare parts.

Depots offer an alternative to the traditional manual repair system, but they *do not replace it*. The manual method remains available for players who prefer it or operate smaller fleets.

The introduction of depots coincides with an increase in company vehicle slots from 10 to 15 in the v0.7.14 update, making depot management even more crucial for larger companies. However, unlocking these additional slots becomes progressively more expensive, with the five new slots costing approximately 2 million coins in total. In a corporation, these slots must be purchased using the corporation's funds.

Deploying depots across the map has become a pivotal strategy for efficient company operation. The ability to construct depots in various locations, especially with the addition of nine new purchasable plots, enhances map coverage and provides opportunities for company expansion.

Depots add tactical layers to:
